APC Begins Membership Revalidation Exercise In Ekiti

The party said the exercise is necessary in order to ensure that all financial members are properly captured and documented in the membership register,
The All Progressive Congress (APC) has started the membership revalidation exercise in Ekiti State as aspirants vie for the party’s ticket ahead of the 2026 governorship election in the state.
The National Membership Revalidation Committee Chairman, who also doubles as Edo APC Chairman, Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, stated that the exercise was approved by the National Headquarters of the party.
Addressing journalists in Ado-Ekiti, Tenebe explained that the exercise, which would last for two weeks, is necessary in order to ensure that all financial members of the party are properly captured and documented in the membership register, which will enable them to vote and be voted for.
He stressed that monitoring team has been dispatched to various wards and units across the state to ensure compliance, which will further strengthen the party’s registration database.
He said, “Our assignment is pursuant to the requirements of the APC Constitution, particularly Article 9.3.1, which mandates that party members must be financially up to date to be eligible to vote or be voted for.

“As the party prepares for the Ekiti State gubernatorial primary election, this revalidation exercise becomes a critical part of the process to ensure that all financial members of the party are properly captured and documented in the Membership Register. This will enable only those who are up to date with their dues to vote and be voted for.
“Accordingly, all members of our great party who have paid their membership dues of ₦200 per month for the past 12 months are urged to visit their respective wards to confirm their financial standing. This is the primary objective of the ongoing exercise.
“We deemed it necessary to address the press today because APC is a party that is open and transparent. We believe in and practice internal democracy. That is the essence of this committee’s assignment from the National Headquarters in Abuja to implement this revalidation exercise effectively.
“This revalidation will also help strengthen our registration database. The data being gathered now will contribute significantly to the broader registration process and will reflect our growth as a party.
“It is clear that APC remains at the forefront of political development in the country from internal democracy to membership mobilization. I am confident that other political parties cannot match what we are doing. As the primaries approach, we will begin to see the cracks in other parties become evident.”
