Mrs. Ngozi Ogbodo, widow of a 63-year-old ex-soldier, Mr. Christopher Ogbodo, murdered at his place of work at Igboke Nike along Nsukka-Ugwogo Nike Road, Enugu, has appealed to the police to expedite action in arresting and prosecuting the perpetrators.
Mrs. Ogbodo, who spoke to journalists in Enugu on Thursday, explained that her husband was a security guard at a petroleum station under construction and was murdered in cold blood on July 1, 2025.
She expressed frustration over the delay in the investigation.
Mrs. Ogbodo demanded that the police arrest everyone around the construction site.

She expressed bitterness over the fact that the main suspects are still walking around freely, and appealed to the police to release her husband’s corpse for burial while the investigation continues.
She stated, “I’m not happy over the delay in the investigation of the murder of my husband.
“The day he was murdered, policemen from Unity Police Station, Ibeagwu Nike, Enugu, came later at night and took his corpse to the morgue. From there, the case was transferred to the State CID Homicide Department for further investigation. “I learnt that a labourer who was working at the station was arrested.
“Is anything cooking that we don’t know about my husband’s death, which they are hiding from us?
“I want the police to do their discreet investigation into the murder of my husband. They should arrest everybody that are around the place. It is human life we are talking about, and not animals, even domestic animals have their owners.
“I’m embittered that since July 1, 2025, when my husband was murdered in cold blood, the main suspects are walking around freely as if nothing happened. Police should do their job and bring those involved in the death of my husband to justice, no matter whose ox is gored.”
The widow’s appeal comes amid concerns over the slow pace of the investigation and the lack of progress in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
Efforts to speak to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, were unsuccessful as he did not take his calls or respond to a text message seeking his comment.
